The Evangélico Makenzie University Hospital carries out an average of 260 births per month, as it is a high-risk maternity hospital, approximately 65% are cesarean sections, which leads mothers to have late milk production, leading to their babies needing infant formula as a complement to food. With the proposed renewal of the human milk bank, we aim for a significant transformation in this challenging reality. The modernization of equipment will not only allow the recruitment of more donors, but will also enable the expanded collection of human milk. The resulting increase in processing capacity will enable us to perform two pasteurizations per day. This operational improvement will not be limited to the Neonatal ICU, but will also benefit babies admitted to rooming-in. In these cases where mothers face difficulties in milk production, the Milk Bank can meet this momentary need, providing these little patients with vital access to human milk, essential for their development.
