Verde Vida Programa Oficina Educativa is a solid institution that has been providing services to the Chapecó community for 28 years, with effective contributions in the educational, social and environmental areas. It serves 160 children and adolescents between the ages of 9 and 17, in workshops on educational and civilizing coexistence, after school hours. It strengthens bonds by offering free meals, computer workshops, Portuguese and math tutoring, manicures, theater, circus, violin, guitar, percussion, dance, drawing, chess, environmental education, arts, dance, judo, physical education, capoeira and job preparation. These initiatives prevent school dropouts and provide guidance on the harmful effects of drugs, improving the mental and physical health of children, alleviating the impact of poverty and preparing young people for the job market with dignity. From an environmental perspective, the program collects and recycles solid waste in partnership with industries, reducing public spending on basic sanitation. It also promotes environmental education, receiving visits from schoolchildren, raising awareness in the community about our responsibility towards the environment. The adults involved in recycling and other environmental activities are family men, simple people with little education, some illiterate, elderly people, immigrants who would have difficulty finding formal employment, many of whom are former waste pickers. The objectives of the program are: a) To reduce the volume of processed material; b) To reduce production costs; c) To increase labor and institutional productivity; d) To add value through processing. Its areas of coverage are: education, community development and the environment. The reason Verde Vida was chosen as the entity that will benefit from the project is due to its socio-educational and environmental work, with collection, processing and recycling in the city of Chapecó, whose shredding machine will contribute substantially to the development of its activities and the addition of value to the products generated.

Verde Vida Programa Oficina Educativa is a solid institution that has been providing services to the Chapecó community for 28 years, with effective contributions in the educational, social and environmental areas. It serves 160 children and adolescents between the ages of 9 and 17, in educational and civilizing coexistence workshops, after school hours. The Program recycles around 250 tons of waste per month and generates employment and income for 65 employees, fully integrated with the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
