Acquisition of Equipment for Otorhinolaryngology and Skull Base: complete Karl Storz video system, including 24'' Full HD Monitor, TELECAM C3 (Camera Control Unit with 2 camera inputs), 1-chip IMAGE 1S HX FULL HD camera head, cold light source with integrated Karl Storz LED, 1 0o Karl Storz optic, 1 30o Karl Storz optic, 1 70o Karl Storz optic and fiber optic light cable. The acquisition of a Karl Storz Full HD video system, together with the optics, will allow rhinology, otology and anterior and lateral skull base surgeries to be performed with superior quality. Rhinology already performs endoscopic surgeries, but currently faces a very long surgical waiting list. By acquiring another video system, we could increase the number of endonasal surgeries for tumor removal, allowing us to perform more than one case per day, which would help us serve a larger number of patients. In this department, otology performs most surgeries using a microscope, but in several centers in the US and Europe, these interventions are performed using an endoscopic approach, which has several advantages, such as better visualization of the lesion, lower morbidity, and reduced surgical time. Thus, within the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, the requested system would help develop endoscopic otologic surgery. Thus, with the acquisition of a Karl Storz Full HD video system, we will have better trained residents, better assisted patients, and a clinical staff with greater qualifications to continue the arduous and long mission of teaching and training new specialist doctors. The main objective of this project is to provide dignified care at Santa Casa de Misericórdio de São Paulo and to continue offering high-quality diagnosis and surgical treatment to SUS patients, using a state-of-the-art video system.

OBJECTIVE: To provide care and continue offering high-quality diagnostic and surgical treatment to SUS patients. Current Situation and Desired Situation: 1. Increase the average from 120 to 200 consultations per month in all areas. 2. Increase the number of exams performed from 120 to 200 per month in all areas. 3. Replace 8 ear surgeries through a microscope with 8 endoscopic ear surgeries per month. 4. Increase the number of rhinology surgeries by nasal endoscopy from 12 to 20 per month. 5. Increase the number of skull base surgeries from 5 to 8 per month.
