The project involves acquiring an autoclave for the surgical center of the Seara do Bem Materno Infantil Pediatric Hospital in the Serra Catarinense region. Seara do Bem is a leading provider of care for children and adolescents in Santa Catarina. It is a charitable social assistance organization recognized as a Public Utility at the Federal, State, and Municipal levels. Its main objective is to provide specialized medical care to children and adolescents aged 0 to 15 years who lack financial resources and use the Unified Health System (SUS). It is an institution specializing in neonatology and pediatrics in the interior of the state of Santa Catarina. In this context, and considering the current structure, improvements to the Material and Sterilization Center are necessary to offer greater safety to users during the sterilization of hospital supplies. This will improve the quality of life for children and adolescents from 0 to 15 years of age. This acquired equipment ensures safety and quality in the sterilization processes of materials and instruments used in surgeries, as well as in all hospital units. The autoclave installed at the hospital, already in use for many hours, remains idle for maintenance for many hours, burdening the process and hindering care. In the first half of 2025, 2,863 surgeries were performed, with 9,457 inpatients treated per day, and 31,816 outpatients treated, 86.42% of which were under the SUS (Brazilian Unified Health System), a federal service. With the new autoclave installed, the projected 5,000 surgeries per semester are expected. Seara do Bem Hospital has the potential to increase the number of procedures offered, but it needs equipment to ensure safety, quality, and operational efficiency, thus increasing the number of patients served.
