Stella Maris Hospital is a leading cardiology center in the municipality of Guarulhos, and approximately 80% of its services are provided by the Unified Health System (SUS), providing essential services to the Guarulhos community. The hospital employs highly qualified professionals; however, its equipment and infrastructure require updating and modernization. Among the most prominent needs identified is the acquisition of automated beds and hospital mattresses on the inpatient floors. With this acquisition, Stella Maris Hospital will be able to increase its inpatient bed capacity, reducing wait times and improving patient flow. This is especially important during times of high demand, such as disease outbreaks or emergencies. Automated hospital beds have multiple joints in their structure to perform the necessary movements, such as adjusting the headboard and footrest positions, for different procedures and/or patient placement, depending on the individual's condition or medical indication. It will allow for greater comfort during care, bringing safety and reducing physical effort to healthcare professionals, thus reinforcing the commitment to their care staff by providing a more welcoming and comfortable environment. The improvements will benefit patient care, ensuring faster, safer, and more efficient treatments.

The hospital currently has old, uncomfortable beds, impacting care and agility. Additionally, some beds are inactive due to lack of furniture, making it impossible to provide inpatient services to the population. This investment will benefit 20 inpatient beds and approximately 600 patients per month, on average, who require treatment and healthcare, not only in cardiology but also in other specialties. The project, valued at US$30,005, will involve the acquisition of 20 automated hospital beds and 20 hospital mattresses.
