Biobanks are long-term reservoirs whose purpose is to store different types of biological samples for use in research projects. In recent years, Biobanks have become an integral part of personalized medicine, establishing themselves in large numbers around the world. The Project will be operated jointly with the Department of Pediatric Oncology at Hospital Santa Marcelina, where Tucca has an oncology treatment unit, which is completely free of charge, with the aim of leveraging scientific research projects aimed at curing children and adolescents with cancer. The Association for Children and Adolescents with Cancer TUCCA is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that, in addition to supporting various multidisciplinary activities in the Department, inaugurated the Molecular Pathology research laboratory in August 2018 in collaboration with Faculdade Santa Marcelina. The laboratory develops research projects that help medical conduct during the treatment of children and adolescents.
