The project consists of providing a cryostat to the General Zonal Hospital for Acute Dr. Carlos Bocalandro. This establishment, public and free, is located in a low-income area 20 km from the City of Buenos Aires, provides Surgery, Medical Clinic, Pediatrics, Traumatology, Coronary Unit, Neurosurgery, Neonatology, Maternity and Intensive Care and has with 170 beds for hospitalization. The cryostat is for your Surgery and Pathology Services and will facilitate the task of intraoperative diagnosis. Those who will benefit from this new equipment will be patients who undergo surgery, especially those related to cancerous lesions or those suspected of being cancerous, since they will have faster and more accurate diagnoses and less risk of needing second surgeries, this being very beneficial for both your physical health as well as your emotional well-being. Until 7 years ago, the hospital had a cryostat, but when it could no longer be repaired, it stopped being used, making the task of removing tissues or tumors totally intuitive and dependent on the expertise and/or experience of the surgeon, for this reason counting with one, new would be to return to the service of surgery again in the 21st century.

The hospital treats approximately 100,000 patients per year, of whom almost 4,000 need to undergo some type of surgery. In general, those who receive care here are low-income people who, if they did not have the care of this hospital, would not be able to attend to their health in the private system, but they do deserve quality care, like every human being who suffers from a disease. and as is evident, being able to solve the problem by removing all the malignant tissue at once, makes there a greater chance of healing and survival.
